Kei is a French gastronomic restaurant in the heart of Paris.

Before of yesterday, I passed in front of it many times attracted by the minimal chic design which could be perceived even from outside, many times I said myself that soon or later I should have tried it. Finally today I can tell you about my experience there. In fact the elegant and chic ambience with its shades of grey, white and silver is the first thing that catch you when you arrive. The second is the professionalism and the kindness of the personnel. The third, well, the most important one is obviously the taste which I don’t exaggerate if I define it “unique”.

The History:
The chef, Kei, after a first experience of French kitchen in his country of origin, Japan, moves to Paris where could fine tune his “high end gastronomy” research next to the well-known chef Alain Ducasse. In 2011 he decide to open his first restaurant, Kei, that today can be proud to have one Michelin Star.

The Kitchen:
The culinary creations of the Kei restaurant literally invite to the awakening of the senses. Each plate composition is aesthetically perfect, with the right balance of colours, tastes and ingredients. All plate is different and unique. Some plates of the chef change every day (and this makes the Kei restaurant a kind of “regular surprise” even for usual customers), some instead could be re-proposed from time to time. Every ingredients is personally selected and chosen by the chef.
The menu I decided to choose is called Harmonie Collection and here below you can find an image.

My Favourite:
My favourite plate has been The Garden of Crispy Legumes, wth fume salmon, mousse of rocket salad, cherry tomatoes and black olives, a real spectacle for the eyes and the palate. Just thinking to it my mouth is watering!

Quality/Price Ratio:
Although it is a starred restaurant the price especially at lunch could be quite affordable considering the quality of the experience and the service and the fantastic plates you will have the chance to taste!

Kei est un restaurant gastronomique française qui se trouve au cœur de Paris. Avant hier, tant de fois que je suis passé par hasard là devant ce resto, j’ai été attiré par le style minimaliste chic, qu’on reçoit déjà de l’extérieur et je me suis dit que tôt ou tard je devais l’essayer. Enfin, aujourd’hui, je peux vous écrire à ce sujet. En fait, l’ambiance du restaurant Kei est chic et élégant avec ses douces nuances de gris, blanc et argent et ça c’est la première chose qui vous frappe à l’arrivée. La seconde chose est sans aucun doute le professionnalisme et la gentillesse du personnel. La troisième … C’est bien sûr la cuisine que j’ose définir«unique».

L’histoire:

Le chef Kei, après une première expérience de cuisine française dans son pays d’origine, le Japon, il a déménagé à Paris où il a affiné sa recherche de “haute gastronomie” à côté du célèbre chef Alain Ducasse. Et en 2011, il a décidé d’ouvrir son propre restaurant, Kei, qui décroche une étoile au guide Michelin.

La cuisine:

Les créations culinaires du restaurant Kei invitent à l’éveil des sens. Les compositions sont esthétiquement parfaites, avec un juste équilibre des couleurs, des saveurs et des ingrédients. Chaque composition est unique et différent. Certains plats du Chef varient de jour en jour (et cela fait la surprise continue pour un client habituel), d’autres sont répétées de temps en temps. Chaque ingrédient est choisi personnellement par le chef. Le menu que j’ai goûté est appelé Harmonie Collection. Mon plat préféré de la journée fut certainement le jardin de légumes croquants, avec du saumon fumé d’Ecosse, mousse de roquette, émulsion de citron, tomates cerises et crumble d’olives noires : un vrai plaisir pour les yeux et le palais. Maintenant que j’y repense, j’ai l’eau à la bouche!

Prix / qualité: en dépit d’avoir une étoile Michelin, le prix pour le déjeuner est absolument pas élevé.

Prima di ieri, tante volte ci sono passata davanti e attratta dallo stile chic ma minimalista che si percepisce già dal di fuori , mi sono detta che prima o poi avrei dovuto provarlo. Finalmente oggi posso parlarvene. In effetti, l’ambiente chic ed elegante con le sue tonalità dolci di grigio, bianco ed argento é la prima cosa che colpisce appena arrivati. La seconda é la professionalità e la gentilezza del personale. La terza, bhe, ovviamente la cucina che oso definire “unica”.

La storia:

Lo chef, Kei, dopo una prima esperienza di cucina francese nel suo paese d’origine, il Giappone, si trasferisce a Parigi dove affina la sua ricerca di “alta gastronomia” accanto al celebre chef Alain Ducasse. Nal 2011 decide di aprire il suo proprio ristorante, Kei , che vanta oggi una stella della guida Michelin.

La cucina:

Le creazioni culinarie del ristorante Kei invitano al risveglio dei sensi. Le composizioni sono esteticamente perfette, con un giusto bilanciamento di colori, sapori ed ingredienti. Ogni composizione é unica e differente. Alcuni piatti dello chef variano di giorno in giorno ( e questo rende il ristorante Kei una continua sopresa per un cliente abituale ) , altri vengono riproposti di tanto in tanto. Ogni ingrediente é scelto e selezionato personalmente dallo chef. Il Menu che ho scelto di provare si chiama Harmonie Collection. Il mio piatto preferito del giorno é stato certamente Il giardino di Legumi croccanti, con salmone fumé, mousse di rucola, limone, pomodorini ed olive nere , un vero spettacolo per gli occhi e per il palato. A ripensarci ho l’acquolina in bocca !

Rapporto qualità / prezzo : nonostante abbia una stella Michelin, il prezzo per il pranzo non é assolutamente alto.
